Transportation:

Patras is connected by air mainly through the International Airport of Athens "Eleftherios Venizelos" (http://www.aia.gr/), which is located in Spata, east of Athens. Patras is connected with Athens by train, by coach or by car. Moreover, two small airports are located close to Patras, which are used for charter flights; one in Araxos, 40 km west of Patras and one in Adravida, 70 km west of Patras.

From Athens to Patras

By train

In Athens there are two railway stations; The Peloponissos Railway Station, serving South-western Greece, including Patras, and the Larissa Railway Station, which serves northen Greece, as well as European cities. The stations are located close to each other, not too far from the center of the city. In Patras, the railways station is located in the town centre, near the harbour and the coach station. There are daily services to and from Athens as well as all the major offshore cities of the Peloponnese. The trip from Athens to Patras lasts about 3,5 hours, by the Intercity express train. Timetables are available by the Hellenic Railways Organization (http://www.ose.gr/).

By coach

Patras is connected with Athens by regular coach services (http://www.ktel.org/), every 30 min (it takes about 2,5 hours to reach the capital). In Athens, the main coach station is called "KTEL Peloponissou", at 100 Kifissou Str., telephone: +30 210 5124910. In Patras, the coach station is located at the centre of Patras, at 2 Zaimi Str. and Othonos Amalias Str., telephone: +30 2610 623886-8.There are also daily coach services to all major cities of Greece, the Ionian Islands and the well-known archaeological sites (Olympia, Delphi, Kalavryta).

By car

From Athens, via the national road Athens-Patras you must follow the right junction right after the toll posts. There is a certain notice leading to the University Hospital of Rion, which you follow. After some distance the road is separated in two and you follow the left way that passes underneath the bridge. Just then you see the University Hospital where the Campus begins.

From Patras to the University Campus

By car

The University is about 8 km from the city of Patras. Coming from the centre of Patras, follow Korinthou Street to its end. Then, you should follow Panepistimiou Street and after the indoor athletic stadium "Dimitrios Tofalos" you turn on the right, following the signs.

By bus

The Number 6 bus for Rion, which leaves from the bus terminal that is located downtown, runs every ten to fifteen minutes and connects the University with the city. Since some buses go directly to the town of Rion, bypassing the campus, it is advisable to ask before boarding if the specific bus goes to Panepistimio (University).

By taxi

There are about one thousand taxis available in the city of Patras. Many taxis work on a 24-hour basis. You can hire a taxi at a taxi stand. Taxis can also be requested by telephone using one of the following numbers 1300, 2610 346700, 2610 450000
